We learn about Bill’s time in film school and how he was the only person in his cohort to graduate with an MFA in cinematography, making him a very popular DP! We talk about how having an active professional life informs what Bill brings to teaching and how the introduction of streaming services and virtual production has impacted his curriculum. Bill explains to us that his daily challenge is not imposing his own thoughts on his students and we discuss how one can encourage individuality, teach the craft of cinematography, and whether or not you can teach talent.
