"They still remember the first day they met like it was yesterday. Joyce and Jasmine were brought together by Lambda Kappa Sigma and since then, they’ve become inseparable. The first time they hung out together, neither of them anticipated talking for four hours at Noodle Gourmet. After that, they’ve eaten together at nearly every restaurant in New Brunswick and Edison. In fact, with both of them being non-NJ residents, they lived in the same house and it became a tradition to eat out every time they went grocery shopping. Since neither of them owned a car, they became frequent users of Uber. Even after Joyce moved out, she would always order Ubers back home for Jasmine after late-night study sessions together as Joyce would receive 50% off Uber deals. This led to the impressive accumulation of a total of 56 Venmo transactions between them to this date. They also began recording the number of hours they spent together because they became study buddies despite having different majors. Joyce and Jasmine spent every weekend together at Livi Dining Hall and eventually, every day studying together during finals.⁣⁣
⁣⁣
They are currently separated by 209 miles, but they managed to continue spending time together through nightly Netflix parties last summer and daily zoom calls. Even though they’ve lost count of the exact number of hours, they estimate that from Noodle Gourmet to their most recent zoom call, they’ve spent 2000 hours together.⁣⁣
⁣⁣⁣
At this point, they know each other well enough that Jasmine knows when Joyce’s family typically eats dinner and Joyce can predict Jasmine’s McDonald’s order. Even though they currently aren’t able to play badminton together in Werblin’s volleyball courts, stay late enough at BSC to get free pastries from Panera, or walk from BSC to ARC to pick up their McDonald’s UberEats order, they look forward to the day they can see each other again in person!"⁣⁣
