## Caption

If confirmed by the state Senate, @rutgers.law alumna Fabiana Pierre-Louis will become the first Black woman and only the third Black justice to ever sit on the court. This would be the first time in New Jersey's 244-year history.⁣
⁣
“Justice cannot be blind if those who sit on our highest and most powerful bench are not surrounded by colleagues who encompass the full range of the American experience, whether it be racially, or generationally, or both,” said @govmurphy during his announcement.⁣
