I love Under Armour. Everything about this Brand. Everything about our family.” – And so begins my message to the UA family regarding the next chapter for our Brand.
I started this run with my partner, Patrik Frisk, two and a half years ago that continued this Saturday at the Baltimore Marathon 5K (and his time was faster than mine, BTW).
And on Sunday, Patrik and I met with our leadership team at Grandma’s House in Georgetown to announce my decision to name Patrik Frisk Chief Executive Officer of Under Armour effective ‪January 1, 2020‬. I couldn’t be more excited for our team.
This Brand is not only very special, it’s very fortunate to have Patrik’s passion for the brand and his determination to win.
To be clear, I am not retiring. UA is still my full-time job and my heart. In January I will assume the title of Executive Chairman and Brand Chief.
And in my new role, I will be able to touch the areas that are closest to my heart: elevating product, amplification of the brand, and THE TEAM, THE TEAM, THE TEAM.
My partner, Patrik, shares the same passion and deep love for our Brand. How do I know this? We’ve traveled the world together, we’ve shared the stage with global athletes and, as I told the team in a letter this morning, Patrik and I have sweated alongside each other – in and out of the gym and the board room. Patrik makes us better!
I couldn’t be prouder of our team and the strategy that we will continue to execute against. And so what’s next? A committed partnership with Patrik, a continued leader and visionary role at Under Armour, and the never-ending pursuit to build an enduring and iconic brand. #WeAreJustGettingStarted! #GoArmour!! #TeamUA #UAFamily
