The one thing no one really tells you about traveling is how to deal with and let go of attachment. Attachments exist, especially when you've spent enough time in a newly, familiarized place. When I first started traveling, I used to get so attached to people + places that it emotionally drained me when moving to the next city. But overtime, I've realized that this is part of the game.

It was truly surreal leaving Thailand after 2 months of living. From getting the 'vid' for the first time to being the furthest I've been away from home to not having any set plans, Thailand did a lot for me. Just a week before leaving home, I wasn't sure if it was worth flying across the world because entry rules were constantly changing. But if I chose not to take my flight, I would've finally called it quits and change the trajectory of my life.

For years, I've been talking about traveling to Southeast Asia but like everyone else, I had to reroute plans. But in a weird way, the lockdown was the best thing that's happened for me as I've learned/made all the necessary mistakes leading me to where I currently stand.

"I'm so jealous of your travels. Your life looks amazing. You're so lucky you can travel the way you do." But really — the amount of time, pain + sacrifice, heartaches + broken relationships it took to get where I am today took a lot out of me. What you see on Instagram really only shows 5% of what it took to get to where I am now and I'm not even close to where I want to be. But if I told you the remaining 95%, there almost doesn't seem to be any parallelism to what's portrayed on social.

Through it all, I just wanted to say thank you all for being on this wild wild journey with me. Your support keeps me going and as I'm now in Cambodia, there are 9 more countries to explore in Southeast Asia. I couldn't be more excited to continue playing this game of life and always, safe & happy travels 🖤
