When she first started Cookbook Club, stephh_lau’s intentions were simple: gather around a shared love of food and make new connections. She had no idea her small get-togethers would eventually grow to over 100 attendees. ⁠

Stephanie joins host abenaanimsomuah to discuss the club’s beginnings, the cookbooks she grew up with, and why she selected hettymckinnon’s “Tenderheart” and natashapickowicz’s “More Than Cake” for some of the very first Cookbook Club meetings. Stephanie also talks about balancing her full-time job as an accountant with her new role as a community-builder and why she’d love to do a Cookbook Club potluck at donangienyc.
