⁠Be honest: Are you even surprised? While celebs and tech execs have been trying hard to sell us on artificial intelligence as “the next big thing,” there are definitely some gray areas where expert knowledge and a personal touch are necessary. Is travel one of them? It seems so, according to a new study that found 90% of AI travel itineraries are inaccurate. The study was based on 100 two-day itineraries generated by Chat-GPT that included a slew of errors like sending travelers to places outside of operating hours, cafes or attractions that were permanently closed, or to locations that simply did not exist.⁠

The way we view it: Traveling is an act of intimacy—with your companions, with the world, with a new destination filled with strangers. It’s also an act of discovery—not to uncover something new, but to find delight in something that is already cherished and nurtured by others.
