“Studying abroad adds to the overall Denison experience, and it’s really part of our DNA,” says head volleyball coach Carter Cassell. “But when athletes get ready to go, we need to have hard conversations: ‘What are you going to do to stay active for four months? And what can we do to help ensure that happens?’”

At Denison, playing a sport doesn't mean giving up the opportunity to study in another country. But it can mean finding some clever ways to stay fit. Keeping student athletes in shape when they're not on The Hill is a team effort — a collaboration among dedicated students and a network of administrators and coaches providing the best options for a school that’s won the last three North Coast Athletic Conference all-sports league trophies.
