On Aug. 30, 2017, then-No. 19 JMU welcomed in-state foe then-No. 23 ODU for its home opener.

The Dukes defeated the Monarchs 3-2 after slipping past ODU, 2-1 in a shootout! 👏🤗

Then-freshman Caitlin Nelson, first time playing in her collegiate career, shut down four of five Monarch attempts in the shootout! 💪
