Getting sober for me wasn't about winning, it wasn't about buying a house, a car or even getting things like a relationship with my family back. Those have been a part of the promises recovery brings
.
I got sick and tired of losing and in the process I learned winning doesn't motivate me, my absolute hatred for losing does
.
I don't think it's wrong to be motivated by winning, everyone is different but for me I learn what I need to change when I lose. Life's greatest lessons have come from losing and by paying close attention to the process, losing has always given me the blue print to become a person who wins more often and stays sober through the hardest moments
.
I got sick of losing sobriety, jobs, friends, relationships, freedom, my moral compass and everything in between. I got so sick of it once I made a decision to never accept losing as my worth I committed to never going back to my old ways
.
Sometimes we gotta get sick and tired of being sick and tired before we snap out of it, wake tf up and stop letting ourselves get held down by our thinking because the universe isn't designed for us to lose, it's trying to teach us how to win. Only you can hold yourself down
