#PennMedicineNursesWeek continues with the team from 3 Pavilion cchosp (CCH). Manager Debbie Hetrick talked to us about the first COVID-19 unit at CCH:

"The staff of 3 Pavilion have risen to the challenge during a time of stress and uncertainty. This unit was opened specifically to care for med-surge and telemetry patients with COVID-19, requiring staff to adapt to a new environment, co-workers, and a new way of delivering care. They have put patients’ interests above their own as their first priority." 

"Not only are they dealing with the virus, but the psychological impact on themselves and their patients. With restricted visitation, they are able to connect families with their loved ones virtually. The staff have become the patient’s support system. I have personally witnessed them laughing, crying, singing, and praying with their patients and each other. Their heroic measures have led patients to recovery and have provided end of life patients with comfort."

"The multidisciplinary team continues to improve their practices as they learn new findings every day. I have never been more proud and impressed at the camaraderie and their abilities to balance their professional and crisis standards of care in the midst of a pandemic." #HealthcareHeroes #PennTogether
