#MeetEmMonday: Next month, Kelly Agostini is set to take the field for her senior year as a member of the Purchase College softball team.

Through her first three seasons, Agostini (Centereach, NY) has been one of the Panthers' best players on the field and leaders in the clubhouse.

In 2018, She burst onto the scene as Purchase's number one pitcher, starting 18 games. While she only finished with a 4-14 record overall, she still tossed 16 complete games and collected 37 strikeouts over 100.2 innings pitched. At the plate, Agostini was even better, hitting .281 with 16 hits, eight RBIs and five runs over 23 games.

Her success at the plate continued into her second season, as she finished with a .341 batting average, 31 hits, 18 RBIs, 13 runs, 10 walks and a home run.

In the pitching circle, Kelly once again led the charge for the Panthers. Agostini started 17 games, finishing with a 5-12 record, including 15 complete games and 46 strikeouts over 98.2 innings.

The Skyline Conference recognized Kelly's efforts at the end of the season, as she was named to the All-Skyline Conference Second Team as a utility player.

As Agostini approached year three at Purchase, head coach Mark Sergio rewarded her for her play and leadership with the title of captain. Agostini shared the responsibilities with fellow classmates, Sunshine Martin and Gabby Carnevale, as they served as tri-captains.

However, the trio never got to take the field with their titles, as the 2020 season was canceled without playing a game due to COVID-19.

Despite the disappointment of missing the 2020 campaign, Agostini and the Panthers have now turned their focus to the 2021 season, which is set to begin next month.

Purchase is set to open the year at Yeshiva University on March 18th for a doubleheader. The two teams will then travel to Purchase the following day for another doubleheader.

Sadly, no fans will be allowed at games this season due to COVID-19, but Live Stats and Live Video will be provided for all home contests throughout the year.
