Join us in congratulating Daniel Tesfamariam, a registered nurse on South Main 4, on becoming the newest recipient of the #DAISYAward for Extraordinary Nurses at MedStar Harbor Hospital! Nominated by a patient, Daniel received the award for his attentiveness and dedication to his patient following her recovery from surgery. 👏 👏 👏 

Sharon says, “From the moment I was transferred to the unit, Daniel took excellent care of me. He always seemed to know what I needed before I needed it. When there was a plumbing issue in the bathroom, he took care of it straight away, keeping it contained while contacting the Facilities department. Daniel then moved me into another room with a wonderful view of the water. As if that wasn’t enough, he has a great sense of humor and an upbeat personality. I appreciate everything he has done for me during my stay.”

Daniel received a certificate and DAISY pin from Dawn Owens, chief nursing officer and vice president of patient care services; Cara Miller, senior director; Cindy Roles, assistant director; and Becky Grant, who coordinates the DAISY Award nominations for the hospital. In the tradition of the DAISY Award, Daniel also received the sculpture, “A Healer’s Touch,” hand-carved by artists from the Shona Tribe in Africa.
