🎓✨ Celebrating Excellence: 2024 YMCA High School Scholarship Recipients! ✨🎓

We are thrilled to announce the recipients of the 2024 Valparaiso Family YMCA High School Scholarships! Thanks to the generosity of our donors, we are able to support these outstanding students as they pursue their academic and personal goals. Each recipient was chosen based on financial need, academic performance, and their potential to succeed. This year, out of over 30 applicants, our dedicated Task Force selected five remarkable students, each awarded a $3,000 scholarship.

From Chesterton High School:

🌟 Jessi Nance has earned straight As while exploring photography and drama, working 15-20 hours a week, and overcoming personal challenges with positivity. Jessi will be attending Columbia College Chicago, double majoring in photography and business. 

🌟 Alejandra Sierazy is a top-tier student, lifeguard, swim instructor, and talented artist. Overcoming double hip surgery, Alejandra excels in academics and athletics. She will be pursuing a career in Art Therapy. 

From Valparaiso High School:

🌟 Tyler Edwards is a national Science Olympiad champion with a passion for aerospace engineering and Spanish. He balances academics, music, and work. Tyler will be attending Purdue University. 

🌟 Preston Hughes exemplifies integrity and diligence, excelling in academics, leadership, and community service. He will be studying Accounting at Olivet Nazarene University. 

🌟 Brody Nelson aspires to work with kids through sports, inspired by his experiences at the Y. A true leader and community servant, Brody will be studying Sports Administration at Ball State University. 

Join us in celebrating these incredible young leaders and their bright futures. We are proud to support their journeys and excited to see the positive impact they will make in their communities. 🌟💙
