Coach Jess Conlon grew up in Anchorage, Alaska playing hockey on the ponds. She moved when she was 11 to Scottsdale, where she played for the Arizona Selects. Jess has played at various rinks and organizations around the valley, including the Arizona Runners in Peoria, AHSHA Division II at the Ice Den, and Arizona Premier at Arcadia. Jess attended the University of Minnesota, Duluth, and played ACHA Division II for the Bulldogs, where she took on the role of Assistant Captain and Volunteer Coordinator of the team. Jess and the Bulldogs won the ACHA DII National Champions in 2016. She graduated from UMD in 2019.
Jess developed her passion for coaching while in college, where she worked with local Duluth teams to develop their preseason skills. She chose a minor in Hockey Coaching studies at UMD and went on to assistant coach UMD’s men’s ACHA Division II team while also playing for her women’s team during her senior year.
Coach Jess is most excited about helping grow the game of hockey here in the desert. She takes pride in helping her players develop and showing them how to succeed on and off the ice.
