Jonathan Gómez has enjoyed a successful spell at Spanish second division side Mirandés. 🇺🇸🇲🇽🇪🇸

The 20-year-old made 38 appearances this season.

On the final game of the season, Mirandés needed at least a draw against Amorebieta to escape relegation, and they won in front of their fans 👏🏾

Gómez was born and raised in Texas, and came out of the FC Dallas academy.

He turned professional with Louisville City aged 16, and his impressive performances gathered a lot of attention.

The defender got his dream European move in 2022, signing with La Liga’s Real Sociedad.

After first season with Real Sociedad B in La Liga 2 where he briefly got to work together with Xabi Alonso, he spent the second season in the same league on loan with another club, Mirandés.

Naturally a left-back, Gómez has played as a left wingback and a left center-back in a three-man backline.

He’s been key to their survival.

As a Mexican-American, he’s been approached by both federations and he’s also played for both, including youth and senior sides.

Real Sociedad are known for giving chances to youth players in their system, and his opportunity in La Liga could come soon.

One for the USMNT fans to watch out for.
