I’ve been wasting A LOT of my own time over the last few years trying to make other people happy. The truth is, I have watched myself slowly shrink smaller and smaller to fit into the teenie tiny box of “acceptability”. They say if you have a career online then you have to have thick skin… I do not have thick skin. I am a people pleaser who has spent her entire life trying to be “good enough” in the eyes of others… I feel the truth of that last sentence unraveling as I write it… I WAS a people pleaser who spent her life trying to be good enough in the eyes of others… but now? Now I’m just working on being me. Working on boundaries and self-love. Working on remembering that my happiness matters too. ⁣
