One of my absolute favorite things to do in the winter is ski touring adventures with my dog, Tabor. As most of you know I have been out with an injury the last few weeks but as of yesterday I was officially cleared to ease my way back into uphilling and I couldn’t be more excited!

I’ve had a lot of you ask me why, as a snowboarder, I don’t just splitboard and a couple of things come to mind. First and foremost, I do splitboard! If I know there’s going to be good pow or some steeper terrain, I will usually opt for my board but those are also usually situations where I wouldn’t bring Tabor. When ski touring with Tabor I like to stick to low angle terrain (with little to no avy danger possible) or the local resorts that allow her before the lifts start running. Skis are sooo much easier to manage when the trails have lots of flat sections! Plus, I really enjoy learning new things and challenging myself.
