If you’ve been following my stories lately then you know I’ve been really into ski touring with my pup Tabor. I love it because I get some good exercise (hello PCT training!) and its one of the only ways I can seem to wear Tabor out in the winter.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
The other morning we went out on a sunrise mission and although it was INSANELY beautiful it was also very cold. You all know I bring my GoPro pretty much every where but what you might not know is how hard that can actually be in the winter. Why? Because electronics and cold temps don’t match well.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
I can’t tell you how many times I’ve brought my camera out with me to the most beautiful places on my skis or snowboard only to find that the cold weather sucked all the battery and it won’t even turn on anymore!
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
The two best solutions I’ve found for this is to try to keep the camera as warm as possible by storing it wrapped in a layer in my pack when I’m not using it and ALWAYS bringing a power bank like the mophie powerstation! This bad boy has enough juice to charge my GoPro and phone multiple times AND the convenience factor of charging both at the same time.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Since I’m still super new to this whole backcountry touring thing I’m excited that I’ve found a good solution to allow me to continue to share all the adventures with you! Anyone else experience the cold weather technology struggles? #staypowerful #sponsored
