I am thrilled and deeply honored to announce that I have been selected as the recipient of the assp_foundation Next Generation Board Samantha Wooten Memorial Award for 2024. This prestigious award is a significant milestone in my journey as a Doctoral Candidate at the umslgraduatebusiness College of Business Administration. This award is named in honor of Samantha Wooten, an ASSP Foundation Next Generation Board member whom we lost last year. “Safety Sam” was a tenacious, vigilant, and inspiring advocate for worker safety, driven by the tragic loss of her father in a workplace incident. Being recognized in her memory is profoundly meaningful and deeply humbling.

The ASSP Foundation Next Generation Board Samantha Wooten Memorial Award recognizes talented individuals who have a substantial and positive impact on occupational safety and health, make a significant difference within their organizations, and lead the industry into the future. Receiving this award serves as a powerful endorsement of my commitment to advancing workplace safety.

I am grateful to the ASSP Foundation donors for their generous support and belief in my potential. Their investment in my education and professional growth is deeply appreciated. I also want to extend my heartfelt thanks to my colleagues, friends, and #UMSLDBA cohort classmates for their unwavering support throughout this journey. Thank you all for being a part of this incredible achievement. Your encouragement and belief in me make all the difference.
