Today marks the 59th anniversary of Griswold v. Connecticut, which first guaranteed our constitutional right to contraception. It’s been the law of the land for nearly six decades now—but we know we can’t depend on the Supreme Court to uphold our fundamental rights anymore. 

In the case that overturned Roe v. Wade, Justice Thomas questioned the legitimacy of Griswold — a terrifying hint that if conservatives get their way, birth control might be banned next.
