Chapter V. 

I write this sitting in Eugene at NCAA’s a year after I questioned if this was even attainable. I sit here with a whirlwind of emotions over the success of a year that 365 days ago I would have deemed laughable.

A year where we broke EVERY men’s school record in the sprints and relays. A year where my women despite the dark clouds shined in the biggest of moments. A year where 4 walks-on would carry the relay to the National Championships. A year that saw my first All-Americans & Olympic Trial qualifiers. A year full of peaks and valleys. A year where 28 young men and women once again left an imprint and changed my life for the better. 

I’m one of many in a long line of great coaches at CSUN. This program has a rich tradition as a mid major, especially in the sprints, hurdles, and relays. I’m just glad to be writing a few pages in the history books. 

Appreciate all the athletes still rocking with me, and the ones who helped lay the foundation for the things to come. I am forever grateful and in your debt.

Job’s not finished tho… 2024 Olympic Trial up next in a few weeks…
