What taylorswift is speaking to here (in her amazing netflix documentary) is not just a phenomenon that celebrities experience. It’s an all too common experience of people everywhere. Societal beauty standards are subjective and ever-changing, and can be completely crushing for those of us who don’t fit their narrow expectations (aka the majority of the population). It can lead to body image issues, eating disorders, and mental health struggles. 

When thinness and whiteness are being glorified in the media, and even people who seem to fit that definition are feeling the pressure, we know there’s a problem. Not just with the way the media defines beauty, but with the fact that beauty is being heralded as one of the most impressive aspirations in the first place.

At Be More, we aspire to be more than beautiful and we want to invite you to do the same. To be kind, courageous, compassionate, open minded, and all the things that make you uniquely you.
