The restaurants are closed and the gates remain empty, but the new KCI terminal is nearly ready for business. 

The airport opened its doors to the public in its first open house Saturday, allowing Kansas Citians to explore the new terminal’s shiny interior before it starts flying travelers Feb. 28.
