We always talk about how different the new generations are when they join the fire service. I was hired in 2000 and the firefighter starter pack was a lifted truck, everyone drank coors light. Lots of people chewed Copenhagen specifically, and when you went to medic school you got yourself a gold chain. Today firefighters are getting electric vehicles, drinking seltzers, sucking on some zyn’s, and collecting challenge coins. What was the starter pack when you got hired?
