This is for me. To me. 

You’ve jumped off second story buildings, out of trees, off moving vehicles. You worked this body hard and relentlessly, and I’ll be damned it’s always held up to the abuse. 

You’ve never broken, sprained, fractured or even gotten stitches. Probably a few times you should have but all in all nothing major. 

Shit happens baby girl, congratulations on the first time your body didn’t act immortal. 

Something so small, something you’ve done a hundred times, but this time your body didn’t hold up to the crazy things you put it through. 

The beautiful part was you got to see exactly who you are. You could have cried, passed out, been miserable, felt like a victim. 

You’re a tough woman. Instead you laughed. You walked home. You joked about it. And most of all you allowed yourself the opportunity to receive. 

What a beautiful lesson and experience that was. Sure you could have dealt with the whole thing yourself, but you didn’t have to. 

You have people around you who love you. Who took the opportunity to support you and you received it instead of stubbornly turning it away. 

Who knew breaking your foot could award you with so many things to be grateful for? 

For anyone still reading this, every experience is an opportunity to choose your outlook, your mindset. Find a way to gain something, no matter how shity the experience might seem like on the outside. Look deeper. There’s a gift in there somewhere, you just have to find it. 

Plus I have a cool story to add to the list. I know they say chicks dig scars, but dudes dig chicks that are tough, right?  #beautyandabeast 🏴‍☠️
