This photo from 1929 shows Rachel Daniels and Louise “Salty” Parker. 
 
A visit to the Lighthouse with friends is a must when in St. Augustine, Florida! The ruins of the first lighthouse were a popular tourist spot after 1880, and even the locals would frequent it. In 1929, 95 years ago, Rachel Daniels, the daughter of Keeper Alphonso Daniels, and her friend Louise “Salty” Parker, went on a little excursion to the rocks near the old lighthouse. Rachel and Salty both lived close to the lighthouse ruins, and Rachel described their friendship as being very close, like that of twins.
