At Hahnemühle, we unite excellent expertise with great respect for our environment. Clean water, natural fibres, first-rate expertise and absolute commitment to our production site in Germany are the foundation of our success for more than 435 years.

•  Our production site is located at the edge of a nature reserve. Therefore, all our production processes meet the most stringent environmental requirements. 
• We use pure water straight from the source without chemical treatment. 
• We only use primary fibres and lignin-free cellulose sourced from trees in sustainably managed forests. 
• We constantly improve our carbon footprint and put further measures in place. The energy needed for our production is generated from renewable sources, such as wind, water and solar energy.
• We support reforestation, animal protection and many environmental education projects worldwide.
