Next fall, senior Katarina Klein will attend the University of Denver for a major in marketing. Klein’s interest in the university was piqued unexpectedly during a vacation visit to Colorado last year.

“I went to Colorado last year just for fun, and the last day I went and walked around the campus just to waste time before my flight,” Klein said. “I ended up really liking the size of the school, and I love Colorado and have family in Denver, so then I started to realize that I could actually really like the school.”

Klein’s decision was further influenced by the enticing perks offered by the University of Denver.

“When I started researching the school, I learned that they just offered a lot of perks like a five-year MBA and an outdoor campus,” she said. “They also offered study abroad at the same price as your normal tuition, so there were a lot of little things that excited me about DU.”

Looking forward to her new adventure, Klein expressed excitement about her future prospects in Denver.

“I’m most excited to get to Denver and meet a bunch of new people and to get new experiences,” she said.

Reflecting on her time at McCallum, Klein said she appreciates the people she has come to know and admire.

“What I will miss about McCallum is all of my friends and the sense of community we have,” she said.

Klein’s decision to major in marketing was driven by her affinity for math and her desire for a dynamic career.

“I’m majoring in marketing. Math is my best subject so I wanted to have a major where I would take some math classes, but not be overwhelmed by it,” she said. “I also wanted a major that would allow me to be creative and not have a job where I would do the same thing every day. So I’m trying marketing, and if I don’t like it, I’ll just switch to something else.”
