7th grader Michael Lopez earned extra credit in American History class by exploring local Native American history. Michael hiked to the "Indian Grinding Rocks" at Garland Ranch Regional Park in Carmel Valley. The Rumsen tribe was part of the Ohlone people and used these rocks to grind acorns and buckeye nuts.
