Mr. Jimenez’s science class learned about energy transfer in sports – how snowboarders can get higher on their jumps, how runners can maximize their speed and how food and chemical energy gives the athlete the proper nutrients to get through a tough game. The boys chose a type of sports movement, filmed their activity, put it in slow motion and created a presentation explaining all the different types of energy transfer taking place to accomplish each movement. Science can make you a better athlete!
