For Black History Month, we sat down with former USMNT Star Mo Edu to discuss the state of Black Soccer, our representation during the last World Cup, his ambition to leave a legacy, and desire to see more Black kids to get involved in the game - seeing themselves at every level.

Edu, with 46 caps, represented the U.S. at the 2008 Olympics and the 2010 World Cup. After being the first overall pick in the 2007 MLS SuperDraft and winning Rookie of the Year, he had a successful club career in Europe, playing for Rangers in Scotland, winning three league titles, three cups, and participating in the UEFA Champions League and UEFA Europa League. He later joined Stoke City in England and Bursaspor in Turkey before returning to MLS to captain the Philadelphia Union.

A legend in his own right, Mo Edu has shined even brighter in his post-career as a broadcaster and soccer analyst for MLS and CBS Golazo Network, where you can catch him “Kickin’ It” with thierryhenry, kateabdo, micahrichards, charliedavies09, clint_dempsey, and more.
