#MOREBLACKDOCTORS We have all had our own experiences not feeling seen or heard by a doctor or medical professional. There are some things that are just understood, having that relatability makes a huge difference. #TeamDL

Can you relate? Have you ever had a Black doctor? 👨🏾‍⚕️ 🤔

In 1972 these Black medical students discussed why it’s important to have a Black doctor. This is from the documentary, ‘Code Blue,’ and was found on Twitter through an account named EarlLandix. 👇🏾

“Code Blue (1972) is an award-winning film used to recruit minorities into the medical profession in the early 1970s, a time when such representation in health services was uncommon. The film not only had a lasting impact on medical recruitment, it also is one of the earliest existing films created by Henry Hampton’s groundbreaking Boston-based documentary company, Blackside Inc., which produced such seminal civil rights series as Eyes on the Prize.”
