## Caption

Today I joined thousands of others in Oakland at the #ReclaimMLK action organized by @antipoliceterrorproject. While the messages are always powerful, I find the true power of these actions found in the exhibition of the Beloved Community that MLK yearned for us all to know. The mutual aid, the joyous community, and life-giving act of common cause is beyond words. 

This year I joined the with @im4humanintegrity
and @interfaith4ceasefire to make sure that faith voices were present during this particular ceasefire focused action.

The last picture is with @rev.deb.lee
Executive Director of @im4humanintegrity
and a friend for 35 years. We were once young but still at this work. Our roles have shifted and changed, but our commitment to justice remains. At this event I also made new friends, connected with internet connections, and witnessed human goodness all round.

The work is difficult and often seems overwhelming, but if you surround yourself with people and organizations with whom you can mutually support one another, we can be sustained for the long haul.

Special thanks to the many people who help make actions like this so powerful. You may not be front and center, but you are seen. Thank you.
