DAY 26: MINDFUL

And Mary said: “My soul glorifies God and my spirit rejoices in God my Savior, for he has been mindful of the humble state of his servant.— Luke 1:46-48 

I am the WORST at remembering to send birthday notes to my family. I have tons of excuses that are true and real: I’m too busy, they don’t mind, I am just bad at this. Thing is, my forgetting and the reasons why I do, should not be excuses to stop trying as if it doesn’t really matter. Remembering and being remembered are wonderful things.

It is too easy to forget — forget our loved ones, forget the struggles of the world, and forget that there are people living lives drastically different than ours. Remembering others and the lives they live helps us to strengthen personal relationships, step out of places of privilege, and to develop a deeper appreciation for the world and the people in it.

For the good of the world and our own faith, we must remember others as God remembers us. 

God with us –
When the world has us feeling
forgotten, forsaken, and overwhelmed 
Speak so that we may
trust and believe
that we are always remembered by you. 
– AMEN
