As an ongoing commitment to get to know our new current city, I'm taking advantage of all the #FilipinoAmericanHistoryMonth activities. It's been great meeting folks who have been doing such good work here in San Jose. It's also so lovely to discover how small the #FilipinoAmerican community is. Pretty sure we're all less than two degrees of separation from one another and it often goes right through #dawnmabalonisintheheart and @fanhs_national
:-)

Thanks to @fanhs.scv, @leadfilipino and Manong Robert for this morning's tour of San Jose's #Pinoytown. For those who are wondering where Pinoytown is, it's commonly known as mostly on 6th Street in current Japantown.

There were some striking images of what now stands where once we're thriving #FilAm communities, but thanks to Manong Robert, we still get to hear the stories.

Highlights included a 1930s Filipino Presbyterian Church site and rarely seen Bacosa surname out there in the wild (my maternal great-grandmother).
