Class of 2024 graduate Lilli Gonzales will attend Fairleigh Dickinson University in New Jersey this fall. She will be majoring in theater with an emphasis on tech theater. She has always loved tech theater and the creative opportunities that being a part of the MacTheater community has given her.

“I feel like it’s the perfect combination of creativity and engineering for me,” Gonzales said. “I love building everything and seeing the show get put together. My favorite part is programming, the lights, anything lighting-related, and I also have a lot of fun with props.”

Fairleigh Dickinson University was the perfect destination for her. Situated between two college towns and only a 40-minute train ride to New York City, Gonzales knew it was where she wanted to be.

“The college is just so cute and pretty and has such a great community,” she said.

Since moving from the East Coast, Gonzales had no idea how much she missed it and is excited to return.

“I used to live there when I was little and I’m excited to be back there and get out of the heat,” she said. “I do love how you can get to so many places so fast. In Texas you have like eight hours on either side and on the East Coast it’s like 40 minutes to New York, an hour to Boston and Philly. I really like that.”

While she’s excited to be moving to New Jersey, she said she is going to miss all of her underclassmen friends and the memories and friendships she’s made over the past four years.
