[UPDATE 2: Got an alert that we were exposed, do final days were also spent hunkered down waiting for an eventual negative, which we received this morning, just in time to go home.

The odds were probably not high for a positive, but why have alerts and tracing if we are not willing to pay attention to them.

We have been inconvenienced and missed out on some things, but we are not the exception and refuse to act as if we are.

Grateful for the time away, but we are excited to be headed home]

[UPDATE: COVID test NEGATIVE. All clear and outside vacation is back on! Thanks for hanging out with us.]

This is my quarantine while on vacation face.

Last night we found out that we might have had a possible Covid exposure before we left CA, so we're playing it safe and quarantining for a few days while we wait for tests results of those involved.

Not our ideal vacation plan, but we will make do and be grateful for the resources to relax in a hotel room and order take out which, thus far, has included homemade poptarts, salmon/avocado toast, Filipino food, subs, and, of course, boba.

We're not suffering, I promise.

We know that the odds of us being infected are pretty low. And if we do get it, we're all vaccinated and will most likely be fine for the short term, though we still do not know the long-term impact of COVID. 

Seriously, to avoid the possibility of passing it on to a you, a stranger, or your child, it's the least we can do.

And while we are bummed about plans made and what we will miss, shockingly, the world does not revolve around our convenience — so here we are, out of an abundance of caution and in solidarity with the vulnerable among us, holed up for a few days, catching up on sleep we didn't know we missed, screening guilt free, not checking email, and enjoying DC from a few stories up and through the gift that is food delivery :-)
