We can’t ever discuss the Science Fiction Genre without speaking Octavia E. Butler’s name.

Her award-winning novels include Parable of the Sower (a NY Times Notable Book of the Year) and Parable of the Talents which won the Nebula Award for best science fiction novel in 1995.

Her body of work is so revered that she received the MacArthur “Genius” Grant and PEN West Lifetime Achievement Award for her talent. ✊🏾🖤❤️💚
