⚠️ TW: murder, violence, femicide 

Her name was Mona Heidari, a 17-year-old Iranian girl who was murdered by her husband on Saturday. 

Authorities have arrested the husband and his brother on charges of killing the man's wife. The “defendants confessed to the murder during the police investigation and were introduced to the judicial authority.”

The Lancet Medical Journal published an article in October 2020, saying at least 8,000 “honor killings” took place in Iran between 2010 and 2014, but only a few were reported.
