The Least Tern (Sternula antillarum) is a priority species for ABC. Their tendency to nest on the ground makes them vulnerable to disturbance by people as well as attacks by cats, dogs, & other predators. Unfortunately, the Least Tern is classified as threatened or as a species of concern in most states where it occurs.
