Repost from cherrytreewoodworks - Check out the colors in this wood.  This was a rotten cherry stump when I found it.  I sliced it up, dried it, cut the useable pieces out of it and stabilized it.  I could easily snap the pen blanks in half before and now after stabilizing they are rock hard.  Amazing how much heavier they are now as well.  Still have a bunch more of it to stabilize but that's for another day.
