Congratulations to 𝐉𝐚𝐜𝐤 𝐊𝐚𝐧𝐞 ‘𝟐𝟒 for receiving the prestigious $10,000 First Responder Family Scholarship from the Firefighter Arno Memorial Foundation (FAM Foundation). Established in 2023 in memory of firefighter Jason D. Arno, this scholarship aims to support high school seniors in Western New York who are the children of first responders.

“We’ve seen a tremendous amount of growth in Jack over the four years that he has been with us at St. Joe’s, and we will be very proud to call him one of our graduates next month. Inspired by his father and all the other brave firefighters and first responders he knows, Jack has clearly learned the value of selflessness - a value that he will undoubtedly carry with him into his college years and beyond,” says Jim Spillman, principal of St. Joe’s. 

With this scholarship, Jack will be able to pursue his dreams at SUNY Maritime, where he’ll be playing lacrosse and studying international trade and business while working towards his Coast Guard license.

We’re incredibly proud of Jack’s achievements and grateful to the FAM Foundation for their support in honoring the dedication of first responder families across WNY.
