To mark the final day of 2021, we're looking back on 10 of our favorite memories from the past calendar year! Check them out below:
1 - We hosted our second outdoor commencement ceremony and celebrated the Class of 2021 graduating on May 20.
2 - The 2020-21 Basketball Team won the Manhattan Cup Championship after defeating Bishop Timon on March 20. This marked the Marauders' first championship win since 2008. (Photo by Andrew Miller '85)
3 - We welcomed 183 members into the Class of 2025 (and the Brotherhood) this year.
4 - Live theatre returned as our cast and crew performed "Rumors" as this year's fall drama.
5 - SJCI held the 2021 Buffalo Mayoral Debate on October 28, the school's 37th annual political debate. We hosted Mayor Byron Brown, India Walton, and Benjamin Carlisle for a debate led by AP Government Students, Equity & Justice Club, Moderator Mr. Ted Lina, and Mr. McHale '87. 6 - The Varsity Volleyball Team defeated Canisius for the first time in 10 years! This win for the Marauders marked Canisius' first league loss since 2012, when they last lost a match to SJCI. (photo by Sam Herr '22)
7 - Alumni Reunion Weekend returned this summer where we held a reunion tent party for class years ending in "0," "1," "5," and "6."
8 - School dances returned in the fall and students had a blast at the Bonfire Dance.
9 - The Annual Christmas Concert returned to Rockwell Hall on December 15 and our Fine Arts ensembles performed a beautiful night of music for attendees.
10 - Our 2021 St. Joe's Day of Giving was record-breaking. We surpassed 1,000 donors in 24-hours for the first time, with 1,238 donors giving $355,372 in support of tuition support and financial aid for SJCI students in need.
