Let’s talk about it 🗣️ 🫶🏼💫

We all have been there at some point in our careers…clients who ask for privacy when it comes to sharing their wedding portraits on social media❤️

I used to struggle with this early in my career because I was so hyper focused on being able to attract better clients and weddings, so any time a client restricted me on using their photos- I resented it or got frustrated because how could I get more business if I couldn’t post my work?!💫

And to this day, I see/hear a lot of photographers struggle with this concept as they are growing their business.

And there are two sides to everything, I’ve seen both sides but on this topic I’ve learned to take myself emotionally out of it and see the bigger picture❤️

When a client asks you for privacy due to personal/religious/whatever the case reason- they are asking you as a professional to keep their intimate portraits for their memory. Chances are they don’t even want their families to see a lot of their close photos because well…that’s their memory as a couple💫

But sometimes as wedding professionals, we get SO fixated on what we can’t share and we can turn bitter instead of shifting our perspective and telling ourselves “let’s get super creative and play around with different angles, focal lengths, light and shadow to create some artistic shots that we CAN share”❤️

It’s all about finding balance where both sides feel respected and where you can turn a challenge into an opportunity🤍

To this day, some of my FAVORITE shots I’ve ever taken are of my clients hands, detail shots and more creative shots where you can’t really tell who the couples are..and I love that❤️

This leaves my clients feeling happy and respected that I listened to their needs and me feeling satisfied that I was able to create magic no matter what the circumstances are, and that is a beautiful thing🫶🏼
