BREAKING NEWS: New York Yankees sign RHP Richard Rodriguez to a minor-league deal. Rodriguez, 32, had established himself as one of the leagues primer long-relief pitchers after his breakout 2018 with the Pirates, and being picked up by the Braves last season during the trade deadline- helping them complete their bullpen and propel into the post-season. However, Rodriguez was hit with an 80-game suspension after testing positive for PED’s this April. Now that ban is up, and Rodriguez will be able to work his way back up the majors with the Yankees, and could potentially be a solid piece for the already studded Yankee bullpen

In 2021, he pitched to a 5-4 record, 2.94 ERA, 149 ERA+, a 1.01 WHIP, with 42 SO through 64.1 innings across both the Braves and Pirates
