Class of 2024 graduate Landry Houston will major in biochemistry at Trinity University in the hopes to go to graduate school for pharmacy afterward.

After some struggles early in her high school career, she took chemistry her sophomore year, and the course reminded her of the fun of school, so she continued to take more science classes.

She heard about Trinity from her boyfriend and found out that it was free to apply, so she did because doing so was not only free but also easy. Houston then got capped at UT Austin.

“I was looking at Trinity, and they gave me a pretty hefty scholarship,” Houston said. “They have pretty nice facilities, and I think it’s a better fit for me.”

She is going to miss seeing her McCallum friends every day and thinks that she’s made a really great connection with a lot of people this year.

“Now that we’re all going to different places even though we’re really not that far, we won’t be able to see each other every day,” Houston said.

She has learned through McCallum to not take things too seriously but still feel like she is learning something.

“[I’ve learned] to not care what people think about you but also to care about your own integrity,” Houston said.
