## Caption

In the fall, Class of 2024 graduate Adrian Recar will attend the University of North Carolina at Asheville where he will major in education and minor in music.

For him, UNC-Asheville checked all his boxes: it’s a small liberal school with the major and the social environment that he wanted.

Recar’s favorite part about McCallum was the vibes of the school and how it felt connected.

“I really like all the friends that I have,” Recar said. “Most people are really nice to each other, which is not very common at other high schools, and I really enjoy it.”

Recar is going to miss his teachers the most, specifically his senior year teachers because he thought they were great.

Recar is excited about what college will provide for him. He hopes to get more engaged in activities while in school, such as theater, which he started but dropped in high school.

“I’m really looking forward to meeting new people and having new experiences, which obviously sounds really cliche,” he said, “but I’m OK with that.”
