Our second #FarmFactFriday of #JuneDairyMonth 🥛😎☀️

So I wanted to touch on the important topic of 👉🏼 antibiotics!

The milk (and ALL animal products) you buy in a grocery is safe, healthy and will ALWAYS be free of antibiotics🥛🐮

This includes both conventional and organic milk❕

From farm to the processing plant, milk coming from a dairy farm is tested for antibiotic residue multiple times. It’s actually one of the most tested and regulated food products, and will never touch humans hands

If there are annnnnnny antibiotics found in a farm’s bulk tank (where milk is stored on the farm) or in a milk truck tanker (what you may have seen on the road before), the ENTIRE load of milk is dumped

That could be around 8,000 gallons of milk dumped down the drain to ensure no antibiotics will ever be in the milk you drink 😱

Just like humans, animals get sick and antibiotics can be used to treat the cows to get them back to feeling healthy and comfortable again. All antibiotics have different withdrawal periods, which means that the milk from a treated cow will not go into the bulk tank for a certain amount of time 👉🏼 until any medicine is completely out of their system

Farmers care about food safety, because we are consuming the same food as you! 🍑🌽🍳🥛
