#Torero Legends » Chris Lewis ('10) was one of the steadiest players in program history, playing in 130 games (2nd all-time) and 68 starts. He finished his career with 728 points and 365 rebounds, and although he never averaged double-digit points or more than six rebounds per game, he played his best basketball in the biggest games. In 2009-10, he posted double-doubles against Houston and #25 Oklahoma, 15 points and 6 rebounds in a win over Stanford, and hit a three at the buzzer to send the Toreros to overtime against USF. In 2008-09, Lewis racked up 15 points, 4 rebounds, and 4 assists in a road win over Oregon, and grabbed 9 rebounds at New Mexico, and scored 16 points against San Diego State in 2006. Over the course of his five year career at San Diego, the Belford, TX native was named to the All-WCC Freshman Team, the All-Tournament Team at the Great Alaska Shootout, and earned the team's Scholar Athlete Award. Lewis resides in Belford, TX today.
